Professionally trained community leaders driving grassroots development is the key to future growth in rowing.

The Certificate in Community Building for Rowing (CCBR) is immersive 21-day leadership program designed specifically for coaches and teachers working in developing the sport of rowing at a grassroots level using the same principles proven effective at CRI and in the ACRL program. Supported by World Rowing and Olympic Solidarity, the CCBR program was launched in 2016 and has run annually each year in October.

Four key components make up the CCBR training program:

• Reflective Learning Environment – CCBR is built on a reflective learning process that integrates learning between both classroom and on water practical components.

• Opportunity for Application – A wide range of programs running at CRI at all levels of the sport provides a fertile platform for implementing learned skills.

• Instruction by Subject Matter Experts – Instruction in the program is provided by industry experts already employed by CRI for coaching education.

• Formation of Community of Practice – Trainees are brought together to form a cohort community, which serves as the foundation of the learning experience and then acts as the driver for continued learning beyond the 21-day program.

Interested applicants for the CCBR program should contact CCBR 2017
